Youth Work
You will have heard that we have been trying to switch up the children and youth work at church.
We are currently very blessed to have so many young people attending St. Andrew’s, some of whom are getting ready to be confirmed.
We have decided that youth work will happen for the time being on weeks 2 and 4.
Week 4 is already a family service so we expect the children to be in church for that,
as it is aimed at them. There will be additional provision for them that afternoon/evening too. More on this below.
On weeks 1 and 3, we’d like the children and youth in the service.
These are the weeks when we have a Communion service in church, which is really important for those preparing for confirmation.
On week 2, we’d prefer all the children (who are old enough) and all the teenagers to be out of church at
St Andrew's
Youth
Fellowship for the whole hour that church is happening.
We want to show by our actions how much we value the younger members of our church, and give them dedicated time and space to meet undisturbed. To this end, we will close the hall for traffic from 9.30am and channel all adults through the back door by the loos and through the kitchen if they arrive at the back of church after this time.
Breakfast will be provided for St Andrew's
Youth
Fellowship and Sarah, plus at least one other safely recruited adult, will be responsible for the activities during this time.
The choir will be asked to process through the kitchen door into the church for these services.

Youth Work
We have secured the Beechwood Community Centre, 41 Marigold Way, ME16 0ZJ, very near church, on the 4th Sunday of the month between
4.30pm - 6.30pm for youth to meet, share thoughts and ideas and eat pizza! (Other snacks are available!)
Initially, these sessions will take the form of confirmation preparation, but after the first four months, we will
be guided by the youth themselves in terms of how they want to use this time. Of course everyone is welcome, even if they have already been confirmed.
Sarah and I will be responsible for this youth club. Relationship is hugely important with younger people so we hope this will give us all a chance to get to know one another better, strengthen our faith and improve our relationship with God too, as we meet together for fun and fellowship. To help us form a sense of community, branded hoodies and T shirts for SAYF will be available should you wish to purchase them.
The first session will be 4.30pm, Sunday 23rd March, at Beechwood.
I hope you are able to support us in our work, and that we can watch St. Andrew’s grow into a flourishing, stable, faithful, all-age community well in to the future.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of these provisions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Every blessing
Anthea and Sarah
